I've been involved with photography since my college days. Back then, I did all my own darkroom work; I shot only black and white until I was ready to develop and print color myself. I did some photography as an informal side business for a while also, but that became such a headache that for many years I rarely even picked up a camera.
A few years ago, a good friend visited me from the West Coast. She had never been to New England, but the beauty of it helped her feel at home. When she returned to California, I began taking photographs again to send to her, so she'd always have New England with her. And seeing New England through her eyes helped me regain my own appreciation of it.
Most of my photography is of nature. I am a country boy at heart. I moved to Boston from upstate New York for college, but ever since then I have been moving to increasingly rural settings.
